I visited the R.O.M. in Toronto last week with my good friend, the lovely and very talented Michelle Moniz (visit her blog at http://michatah.tumblr.com/   ! Go on, it's okay, I'll wait. Back now? Cool, huh? Now where where we? Oh, right! DINOSAURS.) and spent the day drawing dinosaur skeletons (again). I could have easily spent another couple days in those rooms alone drawing, but I got some good sketches from that trip.

In other news, I'm working on another dinosaur painting, this time I'm doing a male velociraptor!
Just finished roughing out the basics last night, so hopefully this one won't take quite so long as the T-rex did!

Tyrannosaurus: Tyrant Lizard King

I call her Suzann!

Tyrannosaurus was an apex predator that lived in what is now North America during the late Cretaceous before the mass extinction events roughly 65 million years ago.  
The largest member of the Tyrannosarinea family, Tyrannosaurus was a massive land predator designed to combat heavily armored prey such as triceratops, and could deliver approximately 3000lb of pressure in a single bite, enough to shatter bone and tear muscle with ease.
Tyrannosaurus was not built for speed, scientist think it could have run under 15km/h at top speed, meaning it was probably an opportunistic predator, scavenging kills whenever possible, but capable of hunting.

For our second infographic at Sheridan, I'm doing a map of where various species of Tyrannosaurus lived, and their evolutionary descent (really, this is just an excuse to draw dinosaurs).
I have 3 of 8 here so far done: Alioramus, Daspletosaurs, and the famous Tyrannosaurus.

It's also worth adding that this is my first real, serious venture into digital painting. I've dabbled in it before, but never really done much of anything with it.

RACIST-A-SAURUS!

So the Royal Ontario Museum had a new exibit on a bunch of previously undisplayed dinosaurs never before seen by the general public that my good friend Lauren and I went to see (because dinosaurs is our thing).
Okay, now this next part I would like to preface by saying that I am in no way racist.

That being said, I give you Niggersaurus.

Yes, it's name is niggersaurus. No, I'm not making it up. No, I did not missread the name.
It's name literaly means "nigger lizard".
As you can see, it's vacume-like skull is perfectly designed to pick cotton.
This is the most hilarious dinosaur ever.
